03 · GUESTS & OCCUPANCY
Casa de Camino accommodates up to 12 adults plus small children, as permitted by Santa Fe County. We cannot allow more than this number without prior written approval.
This limit also applies to guests visiting for just the day and not staying overnight. If you're planning to invite additional guests to visit the property — even briefly — please discuss it with us before you book.
04 · EVENTS & GATHERINGS
Casa de Camino is not to be used for large events. Weddings and large parties are not permitted.
With prior written approval, we may consider small celebrations of 18 guests or fewer, including daytime visitors — occasions like family birthdays, anniversaries, or intimate reunions. All gatherings must be approved before your reservation is confirmed.
Outdoor PA systems and party-scale sound equipment are strictly prohibited.
05 · PARKING & DRIVEWAY
There is a large circular gravel driveway and parking area. Parking is limited to 4 vehicles — if you need space for more than four, please let us know in advance.
06 · NEIGHBORS & NOISE
Casa de Camino sits on 6 acres and offers tons of privacy, but it's still part of a neighborhood, and in a place this quiet, sound travels in the back arroyo — even loud talking carries at night. The honest version: our neighbors are easygoing — they just don't want to hear loud music late at night.
Outdoor quiet hours

Fire pit & outdoor activities
Wrapped up by 10:30 PM
We use an outdoor sound monitoring system to keep everyone honest, and serious disturbances to neighbors can still end a stay — but keep the outdoor music reasonable and wrap up on time, and you'll never think about this section again.
07 · PETS & SMOKING
Pets: Casa de Camino does not allow pets of any kind, as we are sensitive to those with allergies — including the owners of the property.
Smoking: Smoking inside is not allowed in any way. Any evidence of indoor smoking will result in additional cleaning fees.
Smoking is allowed outdoors at the exterior firepit and Kiva fireplace only. Please be respectful and throw all cigarette butts in the trash.
08 · EXPLORING THE PROPERTY
Lot lines are not marked between properties — it adds to the beauty of the area, undisturbed by fences. Please be careful when exploring, as it's easy to wander onto a neighbor's lot. Enjoy the scenery without venturing too far out.
09 · DECKS & OUTDOOR SPACES
The outdoor spaces and decks should be treated with care, especially with children and the elderly. There are large drop-offs, rocky terrain, and steep natural flagstone stairs down to the picnic area. Much of the outdoor area is natural — explore at your own risk.
10 · HOT TUB & SAUNA SAFETY
There are special risks involved in using the hot tub and sauna, and potential dangers to children who are not carefully supervised. Use of these amenities is at your own risk.
All guests must shower before and after using the hot tub — it protects your own health and the integrity of the tub and linens.
The hot tub cover clips on to secure it, but it does not lock, and there is no alarm on the hot tub for children. Supervise children at all times. Spa covers are for insulation only and are not designed to support weight — please do not stand or sit on them.
Before you use the sauna
Guests must be at least 16 years old to use the barrel sauna. Anyone pregnant or with heart conditions, cardiovascular concerns, or other health issues affected by heat should consult a physician before use.
11 · FIRE SAFETY
There are special risks involved in the use of firepits and fireplaces, and potential dangers to children who are not carefully supervised. Guests assume all risks and liability when using the firepit and fireplaces.
Fire safety rules
Keep the Kiva screen covers and firepit screen covers on any time there is a fire. Never leave fires unattended, and fully extinguish flames before leaving the area. Fire extinguishers are located by the supplies at each fire area. Outdoor fires wrap up by 10:30 PM.
Sweep ashes and debris into the metal bins located at each fireplace and the firepit by the end of your stay — we'll haul them off. Leftover ashes incur a $50 extra cleaning fee.
12 · TERRAIN & WILDLIFE
Much of the landscaping of Casa de Camino is natural and native — we've embraced the beauty of the untouched New Mexico countryside. The property has its fair share of cactuses, yuccas, steep cliffs, and rocks. Please use caution outside, especially around cactuses. Tweezers and a first aid kit are in a drawer in the kitchen island in case you get cactus needles.
We also have our share of natural visitors: deer, rabbits, bobcats, mice, hawks, coyotes, wolves, hummingbirds, lizards, and even snakes. There has been recent bear activity in the area as well — keep exterior doors closed when not actively in use, and keep food and trash secured. Please be respectful of the wildlife and act with caution when outdoors.
13 · SECURITY & CAMERAS
The property is equipped with exterior security cameras monitoring the outside of the home. No interior cameras are used — your privacy indoors is fully respected.
We also use an outdoor sound monitoring system to ensure quiet hours are kept and the peace of the neighborhood is respected.
