What's the difference between Casa de Ice and Casa de Camino?

Casa de Ice is the wellness retreat. Infrared sauna, cold plunge, hot tub, pool table, vintage arcade, bocce court, seventeen acres of high desert. Built for wellness weekends and groups who want things to do on-property.

Casa de Camino is the sunset retreat. Outdoor sauna, hot tub, long Sangre de Cristo views from the outdoor kiva, a commercial-range kitchen, a vintage arcade of its own, six acres. Built for couples, creative retreats, milestone birthdays, and smaller groups who want quiet.

Both have a Four Seasons-style firepit, an outdoor kiva, and a twelve-person dining table. Both sleep twelve adults, plus small children. Casa de Ice is about ten minutes from the Plaza; Casa de Camino about sixteen.

How does booking direct save me money?

Accepted Answer

Airbnb charges guests a service fee of roughly ten to fifteen percent on top of the nightly rate. When you book direct through us, that fee doesn't exist. The same home, the same family, the same calendar — just without the middleman markup.

Our 5th-night-free promo only applies to direct bookings: book four nights that include Thursday through Sunday, and a fifth night (Wednesday or Monday) is on us. Subject to availability, excludes holidays and major events.

How do I pay?

Payments run through Stripe, the same processor major brands use. Secure, encrypted, credit or debit card. You'll get a confirmation email with check-in instructions after payment clears.

What's your cancellation policy?

The exact cancellation terms for your dates are shown before you confirm and again in your booking confirmation. Circumstances happen; if something comes up, message us directly and we'll work with you.

Question 5

Can you host a small event or gathering?

Accepted Answer

Small gatherings (fourteen or fewer people) are welcome at both homes, but check with us before booking. We want to make sure the group size fits the home and doesn't disturb neighbors. Events larger than fourteen people are not permitted.

How many cars fit?

Casa de Ice: up to four vehicles in the gravel parking area.

Casa de Camino: two to three vehicles in the top lot (careful turning around, watch the pergola and boulders).

Are either of the homes good for kids?

Accepted Answer

Both homes welcome kids. Casa de Ice has the bunk room with four twin beds and a game room with a pool table and vintage arcade. One honest note: the land at both homes is natural high desert — cactus, gravel, uneven ground — so it's beautiful to walk, not run-around-barefoot territory. Casa de Camino also has steep flagstone stairs inside and out, so we recommend it for school-age kids and up.

Hot tubs at both homes: cover clips but does not lock at Camino. Supervise children.

Do you allow pets?

No pets, with the exception of service animals. We understand that's a deal-breaker for some travelers; we're sorry to pass but it's consistent across both homes.

Is coffee provided?

Accepted Answer

Yes — both homes have a coffee maker that runs K-Cups or a full drip pot, plus a bean grinder and a French press. We stock a starter set of K-Cups; bring your own beans for the pot. How far from the Plaza, the airport, and the ski areas?

- Casa de Ice to the Plaza: about 10 minutes.
- Casa de Camino to the Plaza: about 16 minutes.
- Either home to ABQ airport: about 1 hour.
- Either home to Ski Santa Fe: roughly 40 minutes (varies by snow).
- Either home to Taos Ski Valley: 1.5 hours. Not 45 minutes. Plan accordingly.

Is the firepit smokeless?

The firepits use Breeo smokeless inserts, but "smokeless" is relative — it's a wood fire. If you burn piñon (and you should), expect the good smell of piñon in the air. If the wind shifts and it gets in your eyes, move chairs.

What's included in the cleaning fee?

Casa de Ice: $565 cleaning fee.
Casa de Camino: $500 cleaning fee.

No security deposit at either home. Cleaning fees cover professional turnover after your stay.

What's the deal with Camino's quiet hours?

Accepted Answer

Santa Fe is a quiet town. Camino sits in the Sunlit Hills, where sound carries in the arroyo and can travel surprisingly far. Outdoor quiet hours run 9 PM – 7 AM to protect our relationship with neighbors — keep voices down outside after 9, wrap the firepit by 10, and you're golden.

Can we leave bags before check-in or after check-out?

We try to accommodate when we can. Message us directly to ask. Check-in is 4:00 PM, check-out is 10:00 AM, both homes.

Question 15

Who do we contact if something goes wrong?

Gustavo Reyes, our local property manager, lives fifteen minutes from both homes and is on call around the clock. Direct guests receive Gustavo's cell number at booking confirmation. For anything else, email hello@stayicesantafe.com — we respond same day, usually faster.
