SOAK & RESTORE

The best ways to soak.

Wellness isn't a marketing word here — it's the reason people come back. These are the three we keep returning to.

THE BIG PICTURE

What you should actually know.

Wellness in Santa Fe isn't a hotel-spa-brochure word. It's older than that. The high desert has been a place people came to heal for hundreds of years — for the dry mineral air, for the natural geothermal water bubbling up south of town, for the silence at 7,200 feet. The modern spa scene here is built on top of that, not around it.

We've narrowed it to three. Ten Thousand Waves is our family's tradition (and a private hot tub there after a hike is the single most repeated thing we do in Santa Fe). The Four Seasons Spa is the indulgent option — quiet, luxurious, and zero kids underfoot. And Ojo Santa Fe is the day trip, with thermal soaking pools you can move between for an entire afternoon. You don't need to do all three. You should at least do one.

Ten Thousand Waves — Private Hot Tub

THE ONE PLACE WE'D BOOK FIRST

Ten Thousand Waves — Private Hot Tub

Hyde Park Road

Book a private hot tub session with its own cold plunge and sauna, take it after a hike, and follow it with lunch at Izanami next door. Sore legs, hot water, snow in the trees if you time it right. Reservations book up weeks ahead — plan early.

Hyde Park Road

An iconic, Japanese-inspired spa in the mountains on the road to the ski basin. Book a private hot tub with its own sauna and cold plunge, or go for the massages. We time it for the afternoon after a big hike — sore legs, hot water, done.
