Breakfast at Pasqual's: the wait, the seed bread, and the move that makes it easy.

Cafe Pasqual's is our favorite breakfast and brunch spot in town. It's right on the Plaza. Expect a 15–30 minute wait. It is, every single time, worth it.

The move with kids: put your name in, then walk a block to Doodlet's. It's a charming toy store right around the corner, and our kids could spend the entire wait in it without noticing. By the time they're done, your table is ready.

Order the gluten-free seed and nut bread as a side or appetizer. We love getting an entire loaf — it isn't cheap, but it's the best healthy snack to throw in a backpack before a hike.

If you don't want to do the Plaza wait, our backup is Cafe Fina on Old Las Vegas Hwy — casual counter-service, ideal for breakfast, coffee, and baked goods, with a kid-friendly patio and a small playground. Quick and convenient, close to both houses.
