Two kid museums get most of our family-trip mileage.

The Santa Fe Children's Museum has engaging hands-on exhibits designed specifically for kids, with plenty of interactive fun. Ideal for younger children and families. The right scale for under-six.

Explora Science Center is about 50 minutes south in Albuquerque — an interactive science museum perfect for curious kids of all ages. Combine the visit with lunch at Saw Mill Market, a nearby food hall offering diverse dining options. Easily paired with the New Mexico Museum of Natural History (also Albuquerque) for a fascinating, interactive, full educational outing.
